Most people see a chiropractor because they are in pain β but many patients discover that regular chiropractic care improves their quality of life in ways they didn't expect. From chronic back pain and desk-related neck stiffness to sports injuries and tension headaches, chiropractic is one of the most effective evidence-based treatments for musculoskeletal conditions.

Do I Need a GP Referral?
No. You can self-refer directly to Kingston Chiropractic & Wellness Centre without seeing your GP first. Simply book online or call us on 020 8549 5409.
However, Dr Kelly will take a full case history at your first appointment and will advise you if onward referral to your GP or for imaging (X-ray, MRI) would be beneficial.
When Should I NOT See a Chiropractor?
There are some conditions where spinal manipulation is contraindicated. These include:
- β’ Fractures or tumours in or near the spine
- β’ Severe osteoporosis
- β’ Active inflammatory arthritis (flare-up)
- β’ Cauda equina syndrome (emergency β seek A&E immediately)
- β’ Bleeding disorders or patients on anticoagulants (manual therapy still possible)
- β’ Some cardiovascular conditions (discuss with {SITE.practitioner.name} first)
Dr Kelly screens for all contraindications at your initial consultation. If spinal manipulation is not appropriate for you, she will use alternative techniques (mobilisation, soft tissue therapy) or refer you to the most appropriate clinician.
